My name is Marthina Mössmer and I live in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. I specialize in creating handmade miniature teddy bears and other miniature animals. Recent designs I have been working with include antique-style bears and soft sculpture rocking horses. I also make needle-felted bears.

I started making bears in 2000 and sold my first bear on eBay in 2003. My gallery displays some of the bears and other items I have made over the past few years.

Every one of my bears is one-of-a-kind and is completely hand-sewn. I spend about a week on a single bear, often longer if I am also making accessories. About half this time is spent on creating the face to bring out the bear's individual personality. Every bear receives its own signed and dated bear passport.
